The anticipation is over! The Fifpro World XI shortlists are in, and it’s time for fans to weigh in on their ideal teams.
More than 26,000 professional footballers have cast their votes, leading to a reveal of 26 finalists for both the men’s and women’s categories. With the top 11 players in each position making the cut, the excitement is palpable.
Among the men, English stars like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Declan Rice have earned their spots. Meanwhile, the women’s shortlist showcases a strong English presence with seven players, including Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, and Alessia Russo.
It’s no surprise that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dominate the men’s shortlist, with Messi racking up 18 nominations and Ronaldo following closely with 16. On the women's side, Lucy Bronze has made a name for herself, being selected for the prestigious team eight times since the award's inception in 2016.
So, do you think these seasoned veterans still deserve a place in your World XI? Who else would you include in your dream lineup?
