Harry Kane Commits to Bayern Munich Until 2029
Harry Kane is staying put! The England captain and recent Ballon d'Or winner has officially signed a new contract with Bayern Munich, locking him in until 2029. At 33, Kane was entering the final year of the four-year deal he signed when he made his £86 million move from Tottenham in 2023. Last season, he shattered records by scoring an incredible 61 goals in just 51 appearances, helping Bayern secure both the league and cup titles. "I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans, and the city of Munich," Kane shared, his enthusiasm palpable. He continued, "We have a fantastic team and, with Vincent Kompany as our manager, it makes me incredibly proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here, and I was keen to stay. I’m looking forward to the future and want to win many more titles with this great club." With this new deal, Kane is set to remain at Bayern until just before he turns 36, ensuring he’ll be around for Euro 2028 and the 2030 World Cup. However, extending his tenure in Germany does mean his chances of returning to the Premier League to chase Alan Shearer's record of 260 goals are slim. Currently, Kane is 47 goals away from that mark. During the 2025-26 season, he netted 73 goals in 65 matches for both England and Bayern, earning him the title of the world's best male player at the recent Ballon d'Or ceremony. Kane has also dazzled in the Bundesliga, scoring 102 goals in 102 matches and clinching three consecutive Golden Boot awards along with two league titles. Having joined Bayern with the intent to prove himself, Kane has certainly made his mark. Previously without a major trophy in his career, he has now lifted five titles with Bayern and collected numerous individual honors, including Bundesliga player of the season in 2024-25. Kane’s impact is historic; he’s the first player from the Bundesliga to win the Ballon d'Or since 1996. This season alone, he has already scored 12 goals, bringing his total to 156 in 161 games for the club. As England's all-time leading scorer, he reached another milestone in September by matching Peter Shilton's record of 125 caps. This summer, Kane shone at the World Cup, scoring six goals to become the leading scorer in England's history at the tournament with 14 goals in 18 games.
